SMM 069 | Rod Hairston | Harnessing the Power of Your Subconscious Mind
In today’s show, Carol interviews Rod Hairston, CEO, Growth-U. Rod shares how you can achieve you most audacious moonshots by channelizing your sub-conscious mind in the correct direction.
This inspiring show starts off with Rod sharing his background information, and revealing how he ended up being a master trainer to Tony Robbins, of all people. Rod shares how he always possessed the knack to cut through the fluff, get directly to the point, and help people out.
What was one major lesson that Rod took away from his experience with Tony Robbins? Rod shares that “it is all in your head”. You will learn how you can harness the power of your sub-conscious mind, and achieve your most audacious goals. In order to do so, Rod shares that we need to focus on the “now”, and simply set the ball rolling.
Next, Rod discusses the three stages for a typical cycle of performance – inception, deception and transformation. Rod shares that the first step towards achieving your goals is inception which starts with visualization. Have a clear goal of what you wish to become. But, visualization alone does not suffice.
So, why do things do not always pan out the way they are supposed to? You will learn why pandering to your ego can be your biggest failing. This will lead to deception – a stage where we become consciously incompetent. During this stage, Rod urges us to keep going, no matter what. Deep faith, grand vision and a meaningful why will help you overcome this difficult phase.
Transformation or the growth phase is the final stage of the performance cycle. You will learn the importance of managing your attitude and effort in this final stage. Can you really achieve a flow state where you become “consciously competent”? You will learn how you can realize your greatest potential in this stage.
So, why are so many people stuck in monotonous jobs and troublesome relationships? Rod shares how uncertainty creates an energy block which prevents people from swinging into action, and possibly robbing them from some of the most beautiful experiences of their lives.
Towards the end, Rod shares that in order to be a successful network marketer, you need to be a good leader. But, can you lead a group of people if you cannot leader yourself? We discuss the importance of working on yourself first, before anything else. Finally, Rod shares the mantra for Growth-U, his coaching organization, which captures the essence of this show perfectly: Wake Up, Grow Up, Clean Up, Show up
